HRD was contracted by Pennecon Heavy Civil to supply and deliver 380,000 tonnes of Aggregate to Amherst Island, ON as part of the Amherst Island Wind Farm Project.
HRD produced various sizes of aggregate for the project. HRD loaded barges at Picton Terminals for transport via barge to Amherst Island.
HRD in house engineering developed and built an offloading system consisting of 8 conveyors to move the aggregate from the barge to island stockpile site.
HRD is scheduled to complete aggregate delivery on time and within budget in December of 2017.

1000 Islands Bridge
Piers 10-12-13 Rehabilitation

Project Details
HRD completed pier rehabilitation to Piers 10-12-13 of the 1000 Islands Bridge in Lansdowne, ON.
Accessible only by water on the St Lawrence River, HRD deployed a floating work station to carry out operations from which included strict environmental restrictions imposed due to working on the St Lawrence River and Parks Canada owned islands which the Piers are located.
HRD mobilized, removed and disposed of concrete, delivered and pumped concrete as well as demobilized via Tug Boat and Barges.
The Project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget in August of 2017.

The Jackson Press Building is located in the Kingston downtown core. It is home to Walkwel Shoes (& Ecco Shoes) with offices on the upper two floors.
ABNA Investments, in partnership with HRD, renovated all 3 floors. The Architects and Consulting Engineers on the project were Mill & Ross Architects, William L. Worthy Architect, Downey Engineering as well as Roney Engineering, all Kingston firms. This building is currently 100% occupied with 7 tenants. Martin Skolnick was a member of the project team.

Project Details
Picton Terminals deep water port redevelopment included:
- Renovation of existing offices and shop areas.
- Refurbishment of existing ship loading conveyor systems.
- Design build of new ship - same dock to allow large crane operations discharging vessels.
- Design build included working with local environmental conservation authorities to obtain construction permitting.
- HRD managed all construction scheduling to meet vessel arrival schedules.
- HRD managed all construction budgeting to ensure construction phases worked within ownership funding allowances.
- HRD design-built a heavy road construction to handle high frequency heavy haul trucks.

HRD completed Bridge Replacement and new highway approach aprons. The new bridge superstructure was constructed by our forces while maintaining all traffic on a temporary twinning bridge. HRD's own forces completed highway bridge aprons about 1km long on each side of bridge including existing fill removal and construction of new highway road base and asphalt surface treatments.
HRD managed and completed all road construction material testing and highway construction standards testing.

HRD completed a two phase project: Building retrofit and new building construction. HRD worked closely with ES Fox and many other sub trades to complete project on time and on budget. Project included new construction linking to existing building structure, existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure. Updating building controls to match CoK guidelines and working closely with CoK building and Fire Department.
HRD worked with project design team and CoK team successfully through value engineering phases to achieve CoK desired goals on this unique project. HRD managed project budgets and used value engineering to ensure final project budgets we're achieved.
HRD managed all project scheduling which included many design changes and project hurdles. Facility opened on time and fully operational.

- CoK construction standards
- LEED components

This 70,000 sq.ft 4 storey building with underground parking was the former S&R Department Store. It is one of the prime heritage structures in downtown Kingston.
It is now been redeveloped as a mixed-use facility with ground floor commercial space and three floors of office space above. The building is currently 100% occupied.
HDR is currently a tenant and occupies 5075 sq. ft. on the 3rd Floor.
While this is a private sector office facility, the accommodation standards and space planning principles are directly applicable to your project.
The project meets a LEED Silver Standard in its sustainable design features.

Project Details
The Woolen Mill is designated Heritage Building. ABNA Investments Ltd., combine with their team (Shoalts & Zaback, Jain & Associates, Dave Downey Engineering, Dent Engineering) completely renovated three floors and the tower.
The Woolen Mill is 100% occupied with a waiting list. It is currently occupied by 52 tenants plus 25 dry storage units in the basement that also 100% leased.
All tenant improvements, interior finishes and landscaping were completed by HRD. Martin Skolnick of DTZ Barnicke was a member of the project team.
